Butterfly Effect

The Poonawalla's had their Millennium event and so obviously my fav socialite and a very preggers Natasha Poonawalla was there.

While I love the Alexander McQueen dress that Natasha is wearing, I think the ensemble is an overkill with the matching Alexander McQueen butterfly hat and the Lieber butterfly clutch. A defi overkill.

For $25

This halter handkerchief dress seems to be a very popular style in Bollywood. I first saw it on Amrita Arora, then on her sis Malaika, then on a host of TV starlets. This dress is available in almost every souvenir store at touristy places in Florida for about $20-$25.

BTW - please do not pick this brown and yellow combo.

What????

I am not understanding this outfit that Nisha Jamwal has on. Is it a strapless dress with a matching stole on one shoulder or a one shouldered jacket? And the shoes ugh...........

You like?

Kareena is the spokesperson for Anne French. Here she is in a blue maxi dress.

Personally, I like the blue color on her, the bunch of silver leather flowers at the neckline and the uneven hemline of the dress. Let me know if you like this look on her.

Toga outfit

At a press conference for the movie Blue, Lara Dutta just stood out. Nobody notice either Kylie or Akshay ( well I have to admit his silver loafers did get my attention) Her dress is absolutely fantastic and to die for. Right from the work on the shoulder to the belt down to her shoes, Lara is picture perfect. And she has the height and body to carry off this outfit. 2 thumbs up.

At the reception

So finally all the festivities relating to Amrita's wedding have ended. What started with sangeet hosted by in laws to the church wedding, to the mehndi, to her own sangeet, then nikah and finally reception.

The biggest star turnouts were at the church wedding and Amu's own sangeet. Comparatively there were fewer star appearances at the reception. Here are her pics.
Nice outfit, but like I said before I have not been blown away by anything Amu has worn on any of her occasions.
I guess after seeing Malaika's outfit at the sangeet, I expected more from her reception outfit. I have to say, I am a tad bit disappointed with this saree. It is very ho-hum. The color is very blah and the waist band and armlet, really don't add to the whole pic. What I absolutely love though are her pink opal and diamond chandelier earrings. So unusual and soooo drool worthy.

Amu's Sangeet

Amrita Arora had her sangeet ceremony a day after her Church wedding. Scroll down to see if the ladies fared better in this round

MISSES
Very Dull and insipid. Katrina for some reason has been dressing and looking rather depressed. Dunno what's up with her.

Horrible saree. Very bad. I know our desi girl Priyanka Chopra can do a lot better than this.

What is she wearing? Socialite and dress designer Nandita Mathani (and Kareena's Kapoor's husband's ex wife) is wearing a bizarre outfit. It looks like a dupatta draped as a saree on a strapless dress............

This has to be the worst outfit I have seen Twinkle wearing. It has a deep front slit dress worn over leggings with a dupatta added to Indianize it. Wow, creativity at its worst!!!!!!!!!!!

Again very unimaginative. Karisma is wearing what looks like a dress borrowed from the wardrobe of her '80's movie.

HITS

The bride and groom look good together. While I like what Amu is wearing I don't think what she is wearing is spectacular. It is along the lines of expected wear.

Both Suzanne Roshan and Gauri Khan look nice just by virtue of being draped on SRK's arms. Defi better than the others.

Amu's BFF Kareena looks great. She looks more like the bride than Amu herself.

This in my books is spectacular. The bride's sister Malaika looks stunning in her red lehanga and jewels.
