You like?

Sonam Kapoor was invited as a guest on the Indian Idol 4 show. As can be seen in the picture she is definitely trying to promote her new movie Delhi 6 by wearing this salwaar kameez with jhoomkas and jootis. What do you think? Do you like it?

Personally, I love the colors, bright and fun. The colors together are very funky and I love how they look together, BUT, yes there is a but, it is not an outfit many of us can pull off.

Reason being, the kurta is short and flared (has a lot of kalis). Unless you are extremely thin like Sonam, you should not be wearing it as it can make you look hippy. Also the extremes of color on the salwaar, kameez and dupatta can stunt you (visually). Women who are 5'4" or less should try to stick with wearing the salwaar and kurta in the same color to give the illusion of height.

On the whole I love how she looks and I love that she does not play safe and has fun with her clothes.

Who wore it Better?

Unlike most of the other women at the Awards show, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan wore a chudidar kurta. Interestingly, the outfit looks very similar to the one that Twinkle wore to one of the CC2C premiers.

Which one do you prefer? For me, it is Twinkle. Love the color of the outfit and the darker green edging to the dupatta ( I totally don't like the chamki gold on Ash's). Also I love the copper clutch that Twinkle carried. I am getting a little tired of Ash's carrying the crystal Lieber clutch with most of her Indian outfits.

Nokia Annual Star Screen Awards 2009

This was the first of the Indian Awards show for this year. Inspite of the war of words between Ashutosh Gowarikar and host Sajid Khan, it was quite the show.

It was hard not to notice the prevelant fashion trend at this ceremony. Most of the ladies present were decked out in floor length dresses - call them whatever you like - gowns or maxis - I love the style. Let 's check which of these were hits and which were misses :(

I love the electric blue color and the one shoulder style of Tabu's maxi - both color and style are very current trends. While I don't much care for the satin look of Katrina's gown I will admit the color and gown look good on her.

Sorry do not care for either Asin's peach maxi or Celina's wierd brown blue shaded one (what was that???)

Now for the First Wives Club - I love Suzzane's Pucci dress ( I don't much care for her husband's bright green shirt). Yes, it's them again - Twinkle once again looks divine in her maxi and metallic clutch. Akshay looks good just because he is standing next to her.

I love the fact that both these ladies - Hard Kaur in turquoise and Mugdha (from Fashion) in bright pink - were bold enough to wear these colors and they carry them of well too.

I do not like the white gown on Vidya (of Chak De fame). It some how makes her look pregnant and that gold and pearl choker with this dress - honey noooo. What can one say about Amrita Rao - she has matched her grey gown with grey contact lenses??? And that teeny tiny bag on her wrist????? This girl needs a stylist ASAP.

Very tame compared to her previous choices. Ok... but still no accessories. Still figuring this one out.

CC2C Premier in Toronto

I like the fact that Twinkle started off with the saree, then wore a dress and now is wearing a chudidar kurta here. I really like her outfit - love the long kurta, the shoes and the bronze clutch. With the hair and earrings et.al - she nailed this one.

How come Akshay does not consult his wife, when it comes to dressing up? Leather pants, bronzy blazer, sunglasses (at night??) ????

This is so much better than the earlier 2 disasters - I like the lace lehanga with the nude lining, the corset top and the choker ( i will try and get another pic where u can see the necklace better). So maybe there is some hope.........

CC2C Premier in NY

The next stop for the CC2C crew was New York. During the day the cast and crew had a press conference. Here are some pics:

Yes you are right, he is standing atop a NYC cab. What's with the silver loafers and the magenta scarf around the neck? Do Bollywood stars have a stylist? Doesn't look like it.

You may not be able to tell from this pic but Deepika is wearing a one sleeved outfit. While I like the color on her and obviously she carries it well - why is she not wearing any accessories? On a personal note, I love off shoulder or one shoulder dresses but I draw the line at one sleeve dresses. It always feels like something is missing - either the darzi forgot to add a sleeve or you chopped one off. Do you agree?

Better than the white suit, I am not sure about the open lapeled shirt on Akki. I really like Twinkle's dress, love the way she has accessorized with the two tone shoes and the pink clutch. Only, I think the dress is perfect for a dinner party, not for a premier.

Deepika glammed it up - but look at the outfit - another sad story. Same colors as the one in LA just jazzier. Sorry just not liking it.
